Peace through Tourism is a proactive movement, made up of tourism-related companies, community organizations, educational institutions and inspired individuals, who believe that Travel & Tourism can be a positive force for peace, and who champion the mission of “Making Peace Part of Every Traveler’s Journey”!
This site offers information and resources about how you can become a Partner in Peace, and ideas how you can add peacebuilding strategies into your Company’s culture and ultimately into each traveler’s Journey. By working together on a common cause, with a common voice, we can foster a more peaceful & harmonious world through tourism.
Year of Peace
The United Nations (UN) proclaimed 2025 to be the International Year of Peace and Trust. This resolution is calling to the world to create awareness for sustainable peace, mutual understanding and cooperation amongst all people. It further encourages all international organizations, businesses, academia, groups & individuals, to embrace & promote the value & advantages of peace, through public & private promotions.
Travel is the Language of Peace!
As Mahatma Gandhi once intuitively noted, "Travel is the language of peace."
Peace through Tourism supports this belief and recognizes that travel & tourism serves as a powerful catalyst for peace building. When we travel, each of us has the potential to become an Ambassador for Peace, through every journey and every interaction, whether exploring distant lands or engaging with others around our local communities.
