About Us
Peace Through Tourism (a registered trademark of IIPT) is a public awareness initiative and the youth industries segment of the International Institute of Peace Through Tourism*. We are a collaboration of tourism-related companies, community organizations, educational institutions, & committed individuals, united by a shared vision of:
"Making Peace Part of Every Traveler's Journey."
Launched in response to the UN International Year of Peace & Trust, our initiative has grown into an ongoing movement—carrying the spirit of that global call forward by building awareness for peace through travel and encouraging peacebuilding concepts as part of our industry's culture and programming.
Peace Through Tourism is not a travel company and we don't create tourism experiences… others do. We are a non-political, no-cost initiative whose sole purpose is to promote transformative experiences that empower travel companies to evolve into Industry Advocates for Peace and individual travelers to become lifelong Ambassadors for Peace.

*IIPT - The International Institute for Peace Through Tourism (IIPT) is a not-for-profit global organization, formed in 1986, and dedicated to fostering travel and tourism initiatives that contribute to international understanding, cooperation among nations, an improved quality of environment, cultural enhancement and the preservation of heritage and through these initiatives, helping to bring about a peaceful and sustainable world. Our initiative is in partnership with their work. Peace Through Tourism is a registered trademark of IIPT and is used with its permission.
