2026 Planning

2025 was a positive launch year for creating initial awareness for Peace Through Tourism. We created a strong foundation with a clear vision, mission, values and goals. We look to 2026 to expand in these areas. 2026, will continue forward to create more awareness but now adding an additional focus on Peace Leadership and Education. These programs are designed to both create more awareness for Peace through Travel while adding tangible ways to integrating peacebuilding practices into traveler's journey.

Here's a sample of what's ahead:

1.Global Citizens Challenge (Feb. 26-Mar. 1) - Click here
Peace Through Tourism in partnership with our Industry Advocate Partner International Connections will host the Global Citizen Challenge. This free 3-day virtual event will be open to any global youth ages 15-20, who are interested in learn about fostering peace as future global citizens. Last year over 200 youth from 30 countries participated. Join us… we believe global citizenship is the key to positive Peace.

2. Peace Leadership & Educational Resources - Click here
Peace Through Tourism is adding diverse resources to help travel professionals, Trip Organizers and travelers themselves—become more aware of opportunities for peacebuilding (both at home and on the road). Peace begins at home and grows outwardly.

3.When you Plan to Travel…Plan to Travel with “CARE” (Curiosity, Acceptance, Respect, Engagement) - Click here
Whether you're designing itineraries, guiding groups, running a destination activity or the one doing the traveling, we believe the Travel with CARE principles will help turn ordinary trips into transformative experiences. These simple concepts help you foster peace and become an Ambassador for Peace.

4.Workbook about Fostering Peace through Global Citizenship
We are in the final stages of creating a Trip Organizer/Educator pre-trip workbook to help educate youth travelers on ways to think about their role as a global citizen. This 60-minute self guide workbook will follows National Educational Standards and include definitions, discussion topics, role playing & peacebuilding activities. All groups and individuals that complete this will receive a Peace Ambassador certificate.

5. Quarterly Virtual Exchanges about Peacebuilding at home, in your community and in travel (No cost involved).
